When disaster struck Jamaica, 21 Savage didn’t wait for someone else to act. The Atlanta-based rapper, whose father is Jamaican, has teamed up with the Bob & Rita Marley Foundation for a powerful initiative to support victims of Hurricane Melissa. Together, they’ve launched a 48-hour match campaign, doubling every dollar donated to aid the island’s recovery.
“I was in Jamaica visiting my family just before the hurricane,” 21 Savage shared. “Seeing the strength of the people and now the devastation they’re facing made me want to do something right away.”
The campaign, titled One Love, One Heart, One Voice, focuses on delivering emergency resources like shelter, food, clean water, and rebuilding supplies. All donations made within the match window will be matched dollar-for-dollar by 21 Savage’s Leading by Example Foundation.
“Every donation will be matched to ensure immediate and long-term relief reaches those who need it most,” a representative from the foundation added.
The Bob & Rita Marley Foundation, known for its grassroots community work and commitment to Jamaica, brings trusted local infrastructure and deep community ties to the effort, ensuring the aid goes exactly where it’s needed.
Hurricane Melissa left widespread damage across the island, displacing families and cutting off access to essentials in several rural communities. With international response efforts still ramping up, this campaign is one of the fastest-growing grassroots support efforts tied directly to Jamaican communities.
