Amazon is selling COVID-19 test kits for just $39.99.
You no longer have to wait in line or pay $50 to $150 to get tested. The online shopping platform Amazon is now offering Coronavirus test kits for less than $40, according to Yahoo! News.
The at-home tests are available to anyone in the U.S., and you don’t need a prescription to purchase them. Amazon’s COVID-19 PCR collection kit is shipped to a buyer’s home through Amazon Prime. Once the buyer has used the kit’s collection swab and tube, they will ship it back and then wait for their results. The news outlet says the swabs are tested at Amazon’s labs, and then the results are sent back within 24 hours.
The mega-corporation has reportedly processed more than 750,000 tests for its employees.
“Even as COVID-19 vaccinations continue, widespread access to reliable and affordable COVID-19 testing remains a critical tool in the fight against the spread of the virus, said Cem Sibay, the Amazon VP heading the company’s COVID-19 testing work.
“The Amazon collection kit offers customers the convenience they’ve come to expect from Amazon.com by providing access to COVID-19 testing whenever and wherever they need it. The test collection kit provides highly accurate and timely results, helping customers feel more confident as they safely return to travel, work, college, and daily life,” Sibay added.
