American Airlines Customer Allegedly Damages Plane After Entering Its Cockpit

An American Airlines flyer went into the cockpit of a Miami-bound plane and allegedly ended up damaging the aircraft.

Another day, another incident where people just can’t behave on planes.

Flight 488 was in Honduras at the Ramon Villeda Morales International Airport in San Pedro Sula when the incident occurred. At the time, the flight was boarding, and it was set to travel to Miami International Airport. NBC News reports that at some point, the airline said the flight deck of the Boeing 737-800 was open when an unnamed person entered.

NBC News reports that there were 121 passengers and six employees on the first flight.

The person was immediately detained by flight staff, pulled off the flight and taken into custody by police. “We applaud our outstanding crew members for their professionalism in handling a difficult situation,” American Airlines said. Another flight was subsequently scheduled to depart at 9:30 p.m.
