Finally, after tomorrow night, ladies we can have our men back. For those who have been following the tournament you’d know it had gotten ugly. Basketball non-stop for the past few weeks. Two teams go head to head for the National Championship. As projected UNC is & has always been the most hated team in the tournament.
However, going up against Michigan State, the game will be a lot different. A re-match, if you will. These two teams met earlier in the year in which UNC came out victorious( UNC 98-Michigan 63). So lets just say Michigan is coming back with a vengeance.
North Carolina 98, Michigan State 63. The score didn’t even tell the entire story.
The word “embarrassing” must have been uttered at least a dozen times by four or five different Michigan State players following the game.
Now it’ll be a rematch a little more than four months later.
“No. Never,” North Carolina senior Danny Green answered when asked if he thought he’d be playing the Spartans in the national title game. “But they’ve bounced back.”
Michigan State has actually come back from the dead. Everyone had them dead and buried.
Except for the Spartans.
“After the game, we all talked about remembering the feeling,” Tar Heels freshman forward Delvon Roe said. “We knew we were going to get back here.”
“Me, personally, I want them again,” he added.
They’ll get their wish after North Carolina took care of Villanova in the nightcap with ease.
But much has changed.
Starting center Goran Suton, who was out with a knee injury, will be in the lineup for Michigan State. Roe is much closer to 100 percent.
The Spartans will also have their legs this time around. The last time, Izzo’s team had played three games in four days before its matchup against what was then perceived as the clear-cut top team in the land.
North Carolina has lost three times since the teams last met, proving their mortality.
And this time when the two teams meet, it’ll be a true home-court advantage for the Spartans.
So go ahead, invite some friends over & get the party started. I’ve always been one to go for the underdog, so lets go MICHIGAN STATE. Let the best man win! After all, this game here is for all the cookies & bragging rights. There are a few players to look for, but pay close attention to Ty Lawson, ladies, he’s headed to the pros!
