Andy Cohen gave fans an inside look at Karen Huger’s emotional return to The Real Housewives of Potomac following her release from prison.
At BravoCon on Friday, Cohen revealed that the interview with Huger took place just a few days after she was released.
“I went to her home in the dead of night after ‘Watch What Happens Live,’” Cohen explained. “I just kind of snuck into Potomac and snuck right back out.”
Footage from the conversation was included in a mid-season teaser for RHOP Season 10, which premiered at BravoCon, giving viewers an early glimpse of the highly anticipated reunion.
During the interview, Cohen acknowledged Huger’s new chapter. “Here we are. You are a free woman,” he said, referring to Huger’s six-month prison term for a DUI, which ended in September at the Montgomery County Detention Center. Huger responded openly, saying, “Time to talk about my addiction.” Cohen described the full interview as intense and revealing. “It was very emotional,” he said. He added, “I heard things from Karen that I have never heard before.”
When asked how it felt to hear Huger admit to her struggles, Cohen shared, “I was very impressed with the whole conversation. I’m excited for you guys to see it.”
Cohen’s role in guiding the conversation and bringing it to viewers was well received by fans, while her co-stars like Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby and Monique Samuels also praised Huger and the strength she showed throughout her journey.
“I feel like there’s no Potomac with the Grand Dame. And Karen has been that,” said Samuels. “I think this new version of her is going to be even better, because she’s going to be able to be who she truly is.”
Cohen’s careful handling of the interview helped ensure Huger’s story was told with respect and emotional honesty.
As you know, Huger’s legal troubles originated from a high-speed car crash in March 2024 that totaled her Maserati. She was convicted of driving under the influence in December 2024 and served six months before her release in September 2025.
