Andy Cohen has shared his first public reaction to the arrests of Wendy Osefo and her husband, Edward “Eddie” Osefo.
On Monday’s episode of SiriusXM’s “Andy Cohen Live,” the Bravo host addressed the situation and praised Wendy for her accomplishments and character.
“Like all of you, I found out about the charges against Wendy and Eddie Osefo on Friday morning,” Cohen revealed. He added, “There’s not much that I can say. I know nothing of the charges more than you guys do, than what I’ve read.”
Cohen expressed both admiration and concern for Wendy, noting her leadership and integrity. “I’m a Wendy fan, and she has been a great ‘Housewife’ and a great role model,” he explained. He highlighted her commitment to education and family, saying that “she’s always led with education and her solid family values.” He continued, “I’m really thinking about her and her family, and I’m certainly hoping that this is all some big nothing.”
The couple, who have appeared on Real Housewives of Potomac since Season 5 in 2020, were arrested on Thursday in Maryland. They spent the night at the Carroll County Detention Center before posting a combined bail of $100,000 the next day.
Wendy faces 16 charges, including seven felony counts of insurance fraud, eight misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, and one misdemeanor count of making a false statement to a police officer. Eddie was indicted on 18 charges, including nine felony counts of insurance fraud, eight misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, and one misdemeanor count of making a false statement to a police officer.
The legal case stems from a reported home burglary in April 2024. At the time, the couple claimed that a significant amount of Wendy’s jewelry and designer handbags, including several Hermès Birkins, were stolen while they were vacationing in Jamaica with their family.
Wendy, 41, is a college professor and political commentator who holds four degrees. Eddie, 40, is an attorney and entrepreneur. Together, they are raising three young children.
Cohen’s remarks underscore his respect for Wendy’s professional and personal accomplishments despite the ongoing legal proceedings.
