Angela Yee Announces Her Departure From The Breakfast Club

Radio personality Angela Yee revealed Wednesday that she is leaving the Breakfast Club after co-hosting the morning show alongside Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy for more than a decade.

Tuesday night, Yee tweeted, “the breakfast club as you know it is officially over,” which quickly got fans speculating what was next for the syndicated radio show. However, it wasn’t until this morning she provided clarity to her tweet, informing fans she was departing from the show.

“I am going to be leaving the Breakfast Club,” she said during the 8 o’clock hour.

She shared she is moving on to host her own nationlly syndicated daily show starting in the fall.

“It’s always been a goal of mine,” she continued.

The Breakfast Club will still air with Charlamange and Envy. It’s currently unclear if another co-host will be added.

Angela Yee has co-hosted the Breakfast Club since the show launched in 2010. Her popular “Rumor Report,” “Front Page News” and “Ask Yee” segments have been heard across 100 markets nationally.

Before joining the morning show, Yee hosted Lip Service and The Morning After with Angela Yee on Eminem’s radio station, Shade 45, at Sirius Satellite Radio. She got her start in radio on Sirius in 2005 as the co-host for The Cipha Sounds Effect, which was later renamed in 2008 to Shade 45 Morning Show Starring Angela Yee, following Cipha’s departure from Sirius. The show eventually became The Morning After with Angela Yee.

In 2010, Yee took her talents to Power 105.1 and joined forces with Charalamange Tha God and DJ Envy to form the Breakfast Club Morning Show, which arguably became one of the most culturally relevant radio shows on-air. The trio, known for being candid and asking guests tough questions, has some most viral interviews to date.
