Anita Baker To Receive Lifetime Achievement Award At The 2018 BET Awards

BET has announced that they will be honoring Grammy-Award winning singer and songwriter, Anita Baker, with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. During the ceremony that will air on BET on June 24th, Baker will be recognized for her 40+ years in the music game as an R&B music legend.

As a trailblazer, her sound has inspired many artists and opened doors for many women. Her most known songs are “Body & Soul”, “Giving You The Best That I Got”, “Just Because”, and more. She was added to the Hollywood Walk Of Fame in 1994. Baker has also won a Grammy for Best R&B Vocal Performance, Female in 1987, 1990, 1991, and 1996. Though Baker announced her retirement in January 2017, she reprised her career to do one last tour this year.
