Antonio Brown has secured a minor legal victory as he awaits trial for attempted murder.

On Friday, a Miami judge approved the former NFL star’s request to leave his current house arrest for one week to conduct business in Tampa. Brown’s attorney, Mark Eiglarsh, successfully argued that the trip is essential for his client to meet with a luxury car rental firm and attend music studio sessions.

While the judge gave the green light, she emphasized that Brown must remain under GPS monitoring and that any future travel requests will be strictly reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

The state’s legal team fought hard to block the request, citing Brown’s recent history of leaving the country. Prosecutors pointed out that the 37-year-old was previously extradited from the United Arab Emirates and argued that his past behavior makes him a high flight risk. However, the court opted to allow the travel, noting that Brown has been compliant with his “low-level” house arrest since posting a $25,000 bond. Eiglarsh maintained that Brown is focused on his professional obligations and his growing family, as his partner is currently pregnant.

The case against Brown stems from a violent May 2024 encounter following a boxing event hosted by influencer Adin Ross. Prosecutors allege that Brown chased and shot at Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu after a verbal altercation escalated. While investigators recovered shell casings at the scene and cited surveillance footage as evidence, Brown has maintained his innocence.

He has formally invoked Florida’s Stand Your Ground law, claiming that his actions were a necessary response to protect himself from the alleged victim’s aggression.

As the legal proceedings move forward, the stakes remain incredibly high for the Super Bowl champion. While he has been granted this temporary window of freedom to handle his affairs in Tampa, the looming attempted murder charge carries a potential life sentence.

Brown’s defense team continues to assert that the incident was an act of self-defense, while the prosecution remains firm in their stance that Brown acted with lethal intent.
