B. Simone is keeping it real about how fast the money can dry up when the internet turns on you.

During a recent interview with Earn Your Leisure, the comedian and entrepreneur revealed that her income took a dramatic hit after she was canceled on social media. According to B. Simone, she went from earning one million dollars in a single month to bringing in just $10,000 the very next month.
“I made $10,000 the very next month. Why? Because I was canceled on social media,” she said. “So I went from a million-dollar month to a 10,000. Do you, I don’t, what percent drop is that? We are in the red.”
She laughed through the shock, but the message was serious. B. Simone explained that followers do not automatically equal revenue. Even with a strong online presence, consumer support can be unpredictable.
“Followers don’t equate money, and you can be here one day, and the consumer is so episodic,” she said. “One day they’re like, oh, well, she, well, yesterday you loved the book.”
For B. Simone, the experience highlighted the risk that comes with entrepreneurship in the digital age. Support can be loud and consistent one week, then disappear the next.
Still, she framed the moment as a lesson. The ups and downs are part of the journey, especially when your brand lives online. As she put it, it is simply the risk you take as an entrepreneur.
And if nothing else, she proved she can turn even a financial drop into a teachable moment.
