Ballerific Fashion: Balenciaga Unveils $1,890 Reptile Sneakers, Currently the Brand’s Priciest Original Shoe

Balenciaga is once again pushing boundaries with its latest footwear creation.

The legendary fashion house has introduced the “Reptile Sneaker.” First previewed in March during the fall 2024 show, this shoe stands out as one of Balenciaga’s most exciting designs yet. It has an elongated toe and a laceless, slip-on construction.  Crafted without leather, the Reptile Sneaker instead features a mix of polyurethane and polyester, resulting in a distinctive multi-layered look that seems to blend pieces of several sneakers into one eye-popping design.  Additionally, the sleeky style resembles a reptilian and appears to be a perfect footwear option for runners.

Other key details include the Balenciaga and 3B Sports logos at the toe and midsole, with the Loop Sports logo making an appearance on the tongue and heel.  Balenciaga’s iconic European sizing is also displayed on the heel. As for the price tag, fans looking to get their hands on these shoes will fork over a whopping $1,890. This makes it Balenciaga’s most expensive original sneaker on its website, surpassed only by the special edition rhinestone-encrusted versions of the 3XL and Triple S sneakers, which sell for $2,590.
