19 years ago today, Common released his single One-Nine-Nine-Nine on February 2, 1999.

Stemming from album ‘Soundbombing 2,’ the track was a double A-Sided track. It featured Sadat X and Talib Kwell.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

According to Im Angela Powers, Common’s vocals on the song were sampled in “Mic Like a Memory” by #Cunninlynguists.

All Music also stated that “One-Nine-Nine-Nine” is one of the better hip-hop songs of 1999, and they continued complimenting the mellow beat on the single.
