The legendary beat produced by DJ Mannie Fresh, along with Wayne’s catchy lyrics, was a sure sign that Wayne was on his way to becoming one the greatest rappers alive.
The single was Lil Wayne’s first ever solo hit, peaking in the top five on the Billboard’s US Rap Charts and at No. 14 on the Hot 100. Up until the 2008 release of his hit single “Lollipop”, “Go DJ” was Lil Wayne’s most successful single ever.
