LL Cool J has long been known as the first rapper to drop a love track, and nearly 40 years later, he’s proving he can still cater to the ladies.

On Friday, LL dropped his latest single, “Proclivities,” featuring Saweetie. This seductive track comes with a new visual set in the “Proclivities” Hotel, where LL is surrounded by beautiful showgirls, with Saweetie as one of them. The OG rapper sounds as fresh as ever, reminiscent of his past hits like “Doin It” and “Paradise,” both of which were geared toward his female fanbase.

Saweetie takes over the chorus, even paying homage to LL’s 1989 classic, “Jingling Baby,” in her lyrics. Among the many tempting bars, LL raps, “Damn baby I don’t know if you dance or not/I’d love to see you on the pole/I don’t know if you’re conservative or if you’re a freak/But I’d love to see you lose control.”

Even when it wasn’t widely accepted, LL stayed true to dropping sensual records alongside his heavy hitters, like “Mama Said Knock You Out.” During his recent interview on Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay,” he admitted that most rappers and men weren’t too happy when he released “I Need Love” in 1987. However, over time, LL’s blueprint for romantic tracks inspired a wave of affectionate hip-hop. He even credits himself for influencing artists like Drake and Fabolous, whose catalogs are filled with love songs.

As we continue to vibe to “Proclivities,” one of LL’s favorite cuts from his upcoming album “Force,” let’s take a moment to reminisce on some of our favorite LL Cool J tracks made just for the ladies.
