Ballerific Sports: Danny Ferry STILL Has a Job After Insensitive Racial Remarks

Are there any feel good sports stories out there…it’s only Tuesday for Pete’s sake. Can sports news get any worse?  In a day after the NFL was rocked the NBA is now taking a turn. Adam Silver has his work cut out for him and he hasn’t even been on the job a year yet. This has been a very interesting probationary period if I have ever seen one.

This is one of the aspects I hate about sports…Racism.

The Atlanta Hawks are already dealing with a racist owner, who self-reported himself for racist remarks…I smell a billion dollar pay day coming.

There needs to be a running joke…what’s the easiest way to get rid of an NBA franchise…talk about black people. I guess that’s the punchline.

Danny Ferry, how this man has a job in the NBA still befuddles me. Shouldn’t you have been somewhat of a good player in the NBA in order to be involved in NBA front office positions after you retire as a player? Oh, right this is obviously not a job requirement. This world and jobs are about knowing people in high places and Danny Ferry’s daddy former NBA executive and player Bob Ferry is well known.

It’s no secret that the Cleveland Cavaliers ruined their franchise when they traded Ron Harper for Danny Ferry. Ron Harper went on to the Chicago Bull where he got to win multiple titles with Michael Jordan. That move still haunts Cleveland fans to this day because Ferry was one of the biggest busts there was to don a Cavaliers uniform.  Then he came back as a GM and ruined it even more by making awful trades. He is one of the main reasons that Lebron left and went to Miami, he was sick and tired of dealing with incompetent management.

Now Danny Ferry is in NBA front offices, wrecking havocs on franchises. In the latest scandal with the Atlanta Hawks, Ferry still has a job after making racially disparaging remarks about the Miami Heat’s Luol Dang,

“He’s still a young guy overall, he’s a good guy overall. But he’s not perfect. He’s got some African in him. And I don’t say that in a bad way.” Ferry also went on to say “he has a little African in him, not in a bad way, but he’s a guy who would have a nice store out front, but sell you counterfeit stuff out of the back.”

DANNY FERRY…WTF?????

For the record, I am glad that he signed with the Miami Heat.  Who wants to work for people that think of you as no better than a Nigerian scammer?

Last time I checked, 80% of NBA players were of African descent? Why are comments even necessary, they are not called for! Last time I checked, Deng shoots buckets for a living, not sitting in a boardroom making multi-million dollar deals like you do.

You have proved your inadequacy as a NBA GM, former player, and as a person.

Not to mention Bruce Levenson remarks about black Hawks fans, the city of Atlanta has a population that’s almost 55% black. That’s the majority not the minority, why would you not think it would be more black people at the game if they represent the majority of the population. That’s simple math, aren’t you supposed to be a businessman? Tell you what, whatever you are selling, I am not buying. You don’t want my money anyway.

Understandably, he is a businessman and he wants to put customers in seats at the arena. Does it REALLY matter what color the people that sit in those seats are? The last time I checked, money is what you want them spend, and I haven’t seen any other color of money other than GREEN. Coins are silver, and they spend too. Black and white Americans both possess money. Now plastic comes in different colors as well, if you want to be technical.

Don’t sleep on the spending potential of the black dollar. A lot black have great earning, and spending potential. So far, it has gotten your pockets pretty full up until this point.

It’s funny how you are against the face of people, who help you make your money.

I am done, the Klan does not wear white robes any more. They wear hold on to that one percent by wearing business suits, judicial robes, police officer uniforms, and a host of other normal and regular clothing items that help them blend in with the rest of society. Racism, is now closeted but overt and institutionalized.

Come on my 99 percenters, we need to collect some funds and buy the Atlanta Hawks, who’s with me?
