Ballerific Sports: Decision On Josh Gordon’s Reinstatement Still Not Made

Sunday marked 60 days since Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon applied for reinstatement into the NFL, and so far the NFL’s decision has not yet been handed down.

In February 2015, Gordon was suspended at least one-year without pay for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. Back on January 20, Josh Gordon applied for reinstatement.

It was noted that a decision must be made within 60 days, however the NFL policy does leave room for the decision to take longer.  Sunday would have marked the 60th day.

“There is no requirement that a reinstatement decision be made in 60 days. We endeavor to develop the necessary information to make a decision in that time frame, but the actual decisions are made when appropriate,” said an NFL spokesman.

As of now,  Josh Gordon will just have to wait. Sources close to Gordon say he is eager to get back on the field.
