Ballerific Sports: Derek Fisher Ejected For Cussing At Referee

During Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks head coach Derek Fisher had a few choice words for referee Marc Davis following a call he disagreed with.

It was a third-quarter foul call on Kristaps Porzingis, which Davis says Fisher used some colorful language, which led to his ejection from the game.

Via ESPN:

“As I was walking toward the 28-foot mark, Derek Fisher screamed, “F— no.” And then as I took one more step to report the foul, he said, “That’s f—–g horrible,” Davis told a pool reporter after the Knicks’ win over the Los Angeles Lakers. “I tried to divert to go to half court to see if I could give him a chance to settle down, at which point he starts screaming and clapping in my face, ‘That’s horrible.’ He was assessed the first technical. After the first technical foul, he said again, ‘That’s f—–g horrible.’ Then he got the second technical foul and was ejected.”

Fisher has since declined to discuss the specifics of the incident. This is his first ejection from a game as a head coach.

There’s no denying referees make some questionable calls but as a coach Fisher has to keep his cool.
