Baltimore Detective Killed One Day Before He Was Scheduled To Testify In Federal Corruption Case Against Fellow Cops

Last week, a Baltimore detective was fatally shot while conducting a follow-up investigation of a 2016 triple homicide. According to reports, the officer, Sean Suiter, who was accompanied by his partner at the time, approached a man, who had been displaying “suspicious behavior.” After a brief confrontation, Suiter was shot in the head, prompting his partner to call for medics and backup.

Since then, rumors have swirled about the unsolved murder. Many have pointed the finger at the officer’s partner, questioning his motives. But, it wasn’t until officials revealed that Suiter was scheduled to testify before a grand jury in a corruption probe into his former co-workers, that the speculation turned into a possible conspiracy.

The FBI had launched an investigation into a Baltimore task force that used their power to steal money from potential criminals and suspects in the city. The officers were also accused of stealing drugs that were seized and funneling them back into other cities. Several officers have been indicted in the corruption case, including a Philly cop, who orchestrated the drug run in Philly.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Although the feds do not have any evidence that directly links Suiter to a conspiracy, the Commissioner revealed, “There’s nothing we won’t consider,” though it “appears to be nothing more than a spontaneous observation of a man behaving suspiciously and a spontaneous decision to investigate his conduct.”

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

According to USA Today, officials have since retrieved the officer’s gun from the crime scene and have been able to conclude that he was shot with his own weapon in “close contact.” However, Commissioner Kevin Davis has since come forward to shoot down the speculations that Suiter’s partner could have been involved.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

“The fact that we have not yet made an arrest creates an environment for rumors to flourish,” he said, adding that several people have been interviewed and interrogated.

Suiter’s death remains an open homicide investigation, officials revealed.
