Bath & Body Works sparked a full-on scent debate this year after rolling out three of its boldest food-inspired candles yet: Chips & Salsa, Pizza & Ranch and the Holiday Dill-ight pickle candle.
The trio debuted during the brand’s Annual Candle Day event, which kicked off online on December 4 before continuing in stores December 5-7. While shoppers expected the usual holiday lineup, the retailer surprised many with a press announcement teasing “fun and unexpected foodie fragrances.”
The Holiday Dill-ight release added even more curiosity to the mix.
“Inspired by the quirky holiday tradition, join the ultimate holiday hunt by snagging a limited-edition pickle candle,” the product description reads.
Bath & Body Works listed fragrance notes to help shoppers imagine each scent. Chips & Salsa is designed to smell like “bottomless tortilla chips and fresh salsa,” complete with Taco Tuesday vibes. Pizza & Ranch goes all in on comfort food, featuring “gooey cheese, crispy pepperonis and ranch” to help customers “feel the stress of the week melting away.”
But once the brand promoted the new selections on Instagram, reactions flew. While Annual Candle Day is over, these unique scents remain available online. It’s unclear when they’ll be discontinued, but for shoppers wanting a different smell in their spaces, it’s best to hop on these candles now.
