Ben Affleck has officially made a major move, signaling the end of his marriage to Jennifer Lopez. The star recently closed escrow on a stunning $20.5 million mansion in Pacific Palisades, according to TMZ.
Sources close to the real estate deal revealed that the new estate boasts 5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, breakfast and dining areas, a family room, a den, walk-in closets, a media room, a powder room, and even a guest house. It’s clear that Ben is setting up a new chapter of his life in style.
Back in June, Ben and Jennifer quietly attempted to sell their Beverly Hills home but had no luck. They officially listed it for $68 million on July 11. They had purchased it last year for around $61 million and, after accounting for the mansion tax, real estate commissions, and several million in renovations, breaking even seems unlikely.
Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez is actively searching for a new place of her own, marking the continuation of their separation which started in May. While Jen was in Europe, Ben moved all his belongings out of their shared Beverly Hills home.
Though the couple occasionally still wears their wedding rings, it seems more like a formality at this point. After two years of marriage, the signs point to an inevitable divorce.
