Ben Simmons appears to be removing himself completely from the Philadelphia 76ers.
Last month, the 25-year-old baller reportedly told the team he no longer wants to play for them—fast-forward to today, the guard plans on not showing up to training camp next week.
The New York Post reports that this all comes after a slew of rumors surrounding Simmons possibly getting traded. After the Sixers lost in Game 7 against the Atlanta Hawks, Doc Rivers was asked if Simmons was a championship point guard. Rivers’ response was, “I don’t know the answer to that.”
During his time with the Sixers, Simmons has averaged 15.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 7.7 assists. He was the No.1 pick of the 2016 NBA Draft, and he just finished up the first year of his $177 million maximum deal, Fox News reports.
