Bengals’ James Wilder Jr. Falsely Accused of Shoplifting at Toys ‘R’ Us – blogged by @LoveRubyWoo

Running back James Wilder Jr., who is currently on the Cincinnati Bengals’ practice squad, recently had a terrible experience while trying to do some Christmas shopping for his family. On Monday, he was at a Toys ‘R’ Us in Florence, KY when he was racially profiled by management. According to Wilder, as he was browsing the aisles, a manager walked up to him and accused him of trying to shoplift. Apparently, the manager thought Wilder looked like another man who had been in the store earlier in the day and had tried to walk out with a cart full of toys.

As Wilder was forced to sit at the front desk while management called the cops, he started live tweeting the incident. “Wow!!! Going shopping for the fam n sittin at the front desk for being accused of stealing out of toys r us!!!” he wrote. “Said I walked in this morning and stole n now I came back to steal more!!! … Cops called on me for this!!! … I’m going over n beyond to make sure this guy is fired!!!! I won’t even blame the whole store for his racist profiling!!!!” When the cops arrived, Wilder was forced to leave the store even though they had no proof that he had done anything wrong.

Toys ‘R’ Us has yet to comment on the incident.
