BET is pushing forward with its rendering of fresh new content by welcoming back its former red carpet host B. Scott.
The popular blogger and TV personality will return as host of “Twenties After-Show With B. Scott.” BET announced the show in alignment with the season two premiere date of “Twenties.” The half-hour comedy series, produced by Lena Waithe, follows a masculine-presenting queer woman and her two cis-gendered female best friends as they navigate through love, career, and trials of their twenties.
Immediately after the show airs each week, B. Scott will lead the after-show commentary, welcoming cast members and other leading voices within the LGBTQ+ community as they recap the show as well as their own young adult experiences.
B. Scott reuniting with the network comes after a tumultuous past that includes Scott suing BET and Viacom in 2013 for discrimination. The lawsuit claimed that Scott was pulled from his BET Awards red carpet hosting duties after officials claimed he was not dressed “masculine” enough. His remaining obligations were designated to a woman while Scott was forced into a minimal role at the pre-show. The suit was settled in 2016.
“Twenties” will premiere on Wednesday, October 13th at 10:00 p.m., with “Twenties After-Show With B. Scott” immediately following.
