Bishop Yvette Flunder preaching sermon addressing predatory behavior and church accountability

Bishop Yvette Flunder

A resurfaced sermon from Bishop Yvette Flunder is making the rounds online again, and this time people are paying closer attention to what she actually said. In the clip, Flunder recounts confronting a well known gospel singer over behavior she described as deeply inappropriate, raising renewed questions about accountability, power, and silence inside church spaces.

During the sermon, Flunder tells the congregation about a gospel artist who had just finished preaching a fiery message about sin and repentance. She says young men were at the altar crying, praying, and asking to be delivered. After service, one of the young men from her own church approached her with a troubling confession. According to Flunder, the singer allegedly gave him a key to his hotel room and told him what time to come by.

Video:

Flunder says she immediately asked the young man for the key and went directly to the gospel singer to confront him. She recalls asking how he could preach condemnation from the pulpit while allegedly pursuing young men behind the scenes. The response she says she received was simple and dismissive: none of us are perfect.

That moment is what has people talking again. The sermon does not name the singer, but the behavior Flunder described has sparked strong reactions across social media, especially as conversations around misconduct in gospel and church leadership continue to surface publicly.

The timing of the sermon resurfacing has also raised eyebrows. It is circulating again while renewed allegations and discussions about predatory behavior in gospel music spaces are active online, pushing people to reexamine what accountability actually looks like when influential figures are involved. For some, the clip feels less like a throwback and more like a warning that went ignored.

Flunder’s message wasn’t framed as gossip or spectacle. It was a direct challenge to hypocrisy and to the idea that charisma, talent, or spiritual language should ever excuse harmful behavior. As the clip spreads again, it is forcing uncomfortable but necessary conversations about who gets protected, who gets believed, and how church communities respond when allegations involve people with status.

Whether people see it as overdue accountability or a painful reminder of long standing issues, the sermon has landed back in the spotlight for a reason. The internet may move fast, but some stories resurface because the questions they raise were never answered in the first place.

She’s all about integrity and transparency. She encourages people to be who they are.And show people who you are, regardless of judgment and allow god’s transformative power to work on you in the midst of the people. And allow them to witness change

Many believers allowed themselves to be deceived by these false pastors and prophets. But Jesus Christ warned us in Matthew 24:4 “And Jesus answered and said to then,” Take heed that no one deceives you”.

You’re a sad case. There is nothing Biblically condemning two consenting adults from being in relationship. Homosexual was added to the King James Bible in 1946. King James was also a homosexual but u love his authorized version, where his boyfriend posed as the white Jesus that you idolize rather than the real one. The one where he added divorce so he could divorce his wife for the same male lover. King James also left the throne in 1625. Just 6 years after the rumored transatlantic slave trade, even tho many of us are indigenous to this land. They removed books like Exodus to keep us bound and unknowledgeable. Added things like slaves obey your master and the love of money is the root of all evil, to keep us poor and suppressed. You didn’t say much, because a person whom is unread, wouldn’t have the words. Just ignorance. HEY YOU, GO STUDY!!! AND STUDY MORE THAN JUST THE KJV. There are Bible’s that predate his colonialist idealogies.

Furthermore, who said a woman can’t preach? Paul? The world’s… HISTORY’S best opinion piece writer… one who never met Jesus, never walked with him, and never WAS A DISCIPLE OF JESUS CHRIST? None of what Paul said is fact, it’s all his opinion based on the times, what he knew, given what he had. So you’re one of those Pauline Christians too, huh… and not a true follower of Jesus Christ? Yeshua??? Seems to be that way, friennnnnn…
