Blog – Here’s My Guilty Pleasure, What’s Yours?

Like most women, the struggle to remain thin is real. The struggle to become thin is the hardest. Whether you’re trying to lose wight for your own happiness, health or just to look good in a new dress, it seems like there is such an emphasis on the importance of a certain body type. Unfortunately that doesn’t do much for me, since my guilty pleasure is FOOD!

Listen, food has always been my downfall. Since I was a kid with an extra high metabolism I could eat an entire box of pizza in one sitting and be back for more an hour later. I’d eat, eat, eat, and not gain a single pound. At one point I was nothing shy of a string bean. I thought I was invincible. Ha! That was until I had a kid. Mind you, I carried my pregnancy weight very well and even happened to lose all but 10lbs of the weight I gained. Those 10lbs were packed on to my chest and thighs and I was okay with that. The pregnancy didn’t make me fat, it slowed down my metabolism. It was the birth control I got on RIGHT after that made me fat! I mean really fat! I easily gained 40-50lbs in just a short 2-3 years.

So let’s get back to this guilty pleasure. My problem wasn’t being fat. My problem was that I ate terribly. Inside I was still a high school kid eating a whole box of pizza, a whole cheese cake and finishing off ice cream because I had a sweet tooth. Want to know a secret? I still can! Nothing makes me happier than cavity forming desserts, honey. I can’t even lie to you. Cookies, cakes, and ice cream are at the top of my list. Deep fry it and I just might marry you. The cravings are almost unbearable at times. Needless to say I’m back down to my post pregnancy/pre obese size and I absolutely love it. The only problem is that strawberry cheesecakes, fried oreos, deep dish pizza, chicken wings and ice cream bars keep staring me in the face. I need an intervention!!

PS – When I don’t satisfy my addiction pleasure I get a little cranky. This is why I’ve learned how and when to have a cheat day and healthy alternatives to my terrible eating habits. Here’s to a healthier lifestyle!
