Body of 2nd Missing New York Boy Found in Hudson River, Days After Other Remains Were Found

The New York Police Department confirmed that the body of missing 11-year-old Alfa Barrie was found Saturday morning near the Hudson River.

Alfa, from the Bronx, is one of two young boys reported missing earlier this month. Just days before, the body of the other missing boy, Garrett Warren of Harlem, was found near the Madison Avenue Bridge.

Saturday morning, the NYPD Harbor Unit received calls of a body in the water near 102nd Street and Riverside Drive just before 7 a.m., FOX 5 NY News reported.

The young child was unconscious and unresponsive in the water.Ā 

The Harbor Unit retrieved his body, and EMS pronounced him dead on the scene.Ā 

The body was later identified as missing 11-year-old Alfa Barrie. The cause of death is still unclear.

According to police, Garrett and Alfa were last seen together the evening of Friday, May 12, on 145th St. and Lenox Avenue in Harlem.

Authorities had been searching for them since.

It is currently unknown how Garrett or BarrieĀ ended up in the river.Ā The investigation is ongoing.
