Brittany Renner says she is closing the chapter on her child support fight with NBA star PJ Washington as she embraces a fresh start in Atlanta.

On a recent episode of “Facets of Life with Brittany Renner,” the influencer spoke openly with her new partner, Rashad Scroggins, about her decision to drop her child support case in California and how that choice ties into her move from Los Angeles to Georgia.

“At my request, my ongoing child support case in California has been dismissed. I don’t know many ‘gold diggers’ who would willingly walk away from the opportunity to take a bitter BD (especially one who just signed for $90M) to the cleaners. But then again, this ain’t that and that ain’t this!” Renner wrote on social media. “Moving to Atlanta was choosing to be happy TODAY.”

In the interview, Renner described how dealing with child support in California weighed on her, especially as she tried to balance co-parenting with pursuing her own happiness. When Scroggins asked what her move meant to her, she said that part of her hesitation about leaving California was tied to the legal battle.

“A big part of wanting to stay in California was the child support stuff. As a mom, I felt like I was failing my son,” she said, explaining that a friend encouraged her to seek child support.

Renner shared that Washington “hasn’t seen his son since May 7, 2025,” and added, “If my child’s father doesn’t want to be around and all you’re good for is money, well then give me more of it…”

She also reflected on how the experience changed her. “I never needed money to be happy,” she said, noting that her son’s presence matters more than financial stability alone.

Renner and Washington share a 4-year-old son, PJ Jr. Washington signed a $90 million deal with the Dallas Mavericks in September, and a court had ordered $5,500 a month in support before Renner dismissed the case.
