Brittish Williams Says She Lost Out on a $30K Gig With Rihanna Due to Her Ankle Bracelet

Basketball Wives star Brittish Williams says she lost a lucrative gig with Rihanna due to having to wear an ankle bracelet monitoring device that she is required to wear.
During a recent court appearance, Williams requested that the judge change the terms of her release while out on bond awaiting trial on identity theft charges.
Williams was previously subject to a curfew and electronic monitoring. As a result, she said this “significantly hampering her career opportunities and preventing her from being as successful and productive as she might otherwise be.”
Her lawyer says that her role on Basketball Wives requires her to appear at several red-carpet events and shoot for the show.

“The presence of an ankle monitor creates a significant obstacle that makes it difficult for Ms. Williams to meet her obligations,” he said.

According to her lawyer, the ankle monitor has caused issues with the producers.

“The producers of the show do not want the ankle monitor to be visible,” he wrote. “This creates stark limitations on the outfits and costuming that Ms. Williams can utilize. Ms. Williams does not engage in work for which she gets to choose her own outfits and clothes.”

Additionally, Williams’ team argues their client is not a flight risk and has no criminal history. It has become a big issue that puts Williams’ career at stake.
The lawsuit alleges that Williams’ missed out on a partnership deal with Rihanna’s company Savage X Fenty lingerie, because her anklet could not be seen in the photos.

“This lost opportunity cost Ms. Williams at least $30,000 with additional payments that would have been available for Instagram appearances and posts,” her motion states.

“Ms. Williams has also had offers to appear as a model and spokesperson for products by Fashion Nova and Pretty Little Thing Clothing. Again, the offers from these companies were delayed due to the presence of the ankle bracelet. Again, this cost Ms. Williams tens of thousands of dollars in income to which she would have otherwise been eligible,” her lawyer added.

While she agrees to follow the other rules imposed, the reality star asks the judge to cut the bracelet.

The judge rejected the request despite Williams’ lawyer supplying the court with a detailed itinerary. He also stated that it would put her spot on the show at risk if she didn’t make it.

Along with denying the application, the court also mandated that Williams turn in her passport.

RadarOnline.com had previously reported in October that Williams was indicted on federal charges by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri.

Williams was charged with aggravated identity theft, bank fraud, using a social security number without authorization, making false statements to the IRS, and wire fraud.
