Brooklyn Man Arrested And Charged With Fatally Shooting Woman Leaving Her Shift At IHOP

A Brooklyn man was arrested Saturday for the murder of an exotic dancer leaving her second job at a Gramercy Park IHOP on Thursday morning.

Clarkson Wilson, 44, was charged with fatally shooting Imani Armstrong. He is also facing two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

According to police, the two previously dated, and Wilson was the father of at least one of Armstrong’s children.

Armstrong, 25, was shot execution-style in the head around 5 a.m. after she finished her shift at IHOP. An acquaintance of the victim told the New York Post that Wilson had been spotted hanging around the location acting strangely. Armstrong had identified Wilson as “her baby’s daddy.”

“When confronted, he said he was waiting for somebody,” the person told the outlet.

Wilson has a long rap sheet, spanning more than 20 arrests. He has at least four prior complaints against him for domestic violence, but it wasn’t initially clear if any of those complaints came from Armstrong.

Brooklyn’s Regional Recovery Task Force carried out a search warrant on Saturday, taking Wilson into custody. As of Saturday, he was pending arraignment.

Armstrong was from Virginia but had been living in New York for about three years. She had recently separated from her wife, and two of her children were in foster care at the time of her death.
