Cam’ron is heading to court against J. Cole, claiming the Dreamville rapper failed to honor a creative agreement tied to the track “Ready ’24,” featured on Cole’s 2024 mixtape “Might Delete Later.”
According to recently filed legal documents, Cam’ron says he contributed lyrics and a verse back in 2022 with the understanding that Cole would return the favor by either collaborating on another project or joining him as a guest on his podcast, “It Is What It Is.”
However, the Dipset star alleges that for two years, Cole continuously pushed back on the podcast appearance, citing scheduling conflicts, and curved all attempts at a separate promised collaboration.
Adding to the frustration, Cam says he has not received the agreed-upon payment for his part in the song. He’s now demanding that a judge officially recognize him as a co-author of “Ready ’24. Furthermore, he wants a full breakdown of the track’s financial performance. According to his estimate, the song has brought in over $500,000.
J. Cole has yet to respond publicly to the lawsuit. The track currently has over three million YouTube views.
