September 19th has been hailed as one of the most highly anticipated New Music Fridays of 2025, and that is thanks to Cardi B.
The Bronx superstar has finally unveiled her sophomore album, “Am I the Drama?,” and as promised, she packed this project with plenty of punches. Across 23 tracks, Cardi reflects on marriage and heartbreak while maintaining her position as one of the baddest women in the game. One of the most transparent records on the album, “Man of Your Word,” seemingly examines her split from Offset head-on.
In this emotionally charged tune, she raps:
“Seven years I admit it wasn’t all bad / Skeletons in my closet too / As a wife I should have realized when you were hurt / But instead I put my music first / But I really do wish you the best / Continue being a winner / If I had one wish, I wish you would have been a man of your word.”
The album features appearances from Lizzo, Kehlani, Janet Jackson, Cash Cobain, Selena Gomez, and Summer Walker, who appears on two songs: track 1, “Dead,” and track 11, “Shower Tears.” While Belcalis drops off a fresh batch of tunes, she stayed true to her word by including previously released classics “Wap” and “Up,” released in 2020 and 2021, respectively. Though it remains to be seen if “Am I the Drama?” will hold the same cultural relevancy as her Grammy-winning debut “Invasion of Privacy,” Cardi has come back with a vengeance.
Lil Yachty returned with an Atlanta and Texas merger titled “Silver Lining.” The cut features Sauce Walka. This smooth single is just the latest in Yachty’s arsenal. Fresh off tour with Tyler, the Creator, fans are pleased to see Yachty remaining active in the studio.
Rick Ross joins Jamaican superstar Etana for his latest track, “Kiss of Judas.” The inspirational record glorifies the grind while warning of snakes. This latest record follows his June release, “For the Money,” produced by Pharrell Williams. Though no official announcement has been revealed, it appears that Rozay could be preparing an album rollout.
