Cardi B is not holding back with her latest track “Pretty & Petty” from her album “Am I the Drama?”
Right out of the gate, she makes it clear she’s coming for Boston rapper BIA, and fans have been buzzing about it online ever since.
She sets the tone immediately with, “Name five BIA songs, gun pointed to your head / Bow, I’m dead,” throwing shade at BIA’s catalog. Cardi doesn’t stop there; she calls her flow “melatonin flow” and even digs at her label with, “I’m doing you a favor, Epic, run me my bread.”
The track gets personal fast. Cardi takes shots at BIA’s appearance with, “I’d rather die on the surgery table / ’Fore I gotta walk around here lookin’ like you,” and questions her relevance with, “Do she even got a BET award?” She even points out that promoters only book BIA when they “can’t afford Coi,” nodding to Coi Leray’s rise in the game.
Cardi keeps the wordplay and insults coming. She references BIA’s Boston roots, saying, “You from Boston, let’s have a little tea party,” and renames her “Diarrhea BIA.” She also calls out alleged connections and shady dealings: “Why you always at Diddy house? … Tell these folks what it’s really about.”
Identity and privilege are also targeted. Cardi raps, “I hate when a b***h think she cute ’cause she light skin,” and ends the track with a “Mean Girls” reference, calling BIA “a Gretchen” while elevating herself as the “icon” and “legend.”
With “Pretty & Petty,” Cardi B mixes humor, aggression, and straight-up confidence. The track isn’t just entertaining; it’s her way of reminding everyone she’s still a major force in hip-hop and isn’t afraid to call out anyone in her lane.
