Carmelo Anthony Cut La La From His Charity Foundation Last Summer

It appears things have been rocky between Carmelo Anthony and Lala Anthony for longer than most of us know.

According to Page Six, Carmelo incorporated his charity, the Carmelo Anthony Foundation Inc., in July of 2016. At the time, he brought in two of his business associates to sit on the board of directors. La La Anthony, who had been a longtime board member of the Carmelo Anthony Family Foundation, had been removed.

Carmelo started the foundation in 2005. La La joined the board in 2009. The foundation has been known to donate tens of thousands of dollars to programs catering to the homeless in Baltimore. The foundation has also donated to Denver and Syracuse University, where Melo led the team to a championship. In December, the foundation hosted the “Very Melo Christmas” movie event for kids. However, La La was not part of the event.
