CDC Issues Brazilian Butt Lift Alert

Brazilian Butt Lifts, otherwise known as BBLs, are trending among the list of top cosmetic surgeries. But the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently issued an alert.

“If you’ve had a BBL AND have signs of an infection, seek medical care. infections should also be reported to your health department,” the agency posted to its Instagram account Friday afternoon.

“CDC has received reports of infections related to these procedures.”

The agency didn’t release further information on the reports, such as the number of reports it has received.

Instead, the agency advises those who have infection systems to seek medical treatment.

“Seek medical care if the procedure area is red, warm or tender to the touch, or has drainage from the wound.”

“Additional symptoms include fever, chills, or a general feeling of illness,” the post added.
