Ceelo Responds To Backlash Of Him Riding On A Horse In A Nightclub

It may have surprised some people to see Ceelo riding a horse into a club, but in his words, some know he’s “off the chain.”

Ceelo’s grand club entrance, which was him entering an Atlanta club for a birthday party on horseback, has sparked criticism.

The music artist says it was his idea and points out he even lives on a ranch and loves all animals, despite some suggesting otherwise.

“Yoooo so listen, y’all know me right? Y’all know I’m off the chain are you really surprised?   #lol about the other night… I felt like it could be fun and funny to make a grand entrance on this beautiful animal for a very special occasion,” he posted on Instagram under a picture of him smiling, while America’s song, “A Horse With No Name,” plays in the background.

Ceelo said it was a special occasion, the birthday of the late Shawty Lo, an Atlanta icon in the Hip Hop industry.

“We went through all the proper channels to make that happen with no ill intent towards the animal it should’ve been short and sweet but some malfunctions happened and it is what it is but know that I’m ok and the horse is ok as well,” he added.

“I’ll chalk it up as another day at the office being….me.”

The video of Ceelo’s incident has circulated across the internet, showing him riding in on a horse that appeared nervous around all the lights and partygoers. At one point, the horse started jolting around and slipping on the floor and eventually buckled, causing CeeLo to fall to the ground.

It’s no surprise that PETA joined in on the backlash, saying, “It doesn’t take a genius to know that horses don’t belong at a noisy, crowded party, where slippery floors and strobe lights can agitate these vulnerable animals.”

Ceelo says those who know him know his sense of humor and know that the whole thing was all out of love for his “beloved” friend Lo.
