Charles Barkley and Draymond Green have been at odds for quite some time now, stemming from Barkley’s criticisms and overall displeasure with Green’s gameplay and arrogance.
However, things took a turn last week after Barkley criticized the power forward’s season averages. In response, Green called out the Hall of Famer, claiming Barkley didn’t have the range to talk basketball with no rings.
“[Charles] Barkley should stop before I take his job. Because I can do that well too…,” Green said, at the time. “He also can’t talk basketball with me either. Not smart enough, not qualified. No rings, can’t sit at this table.”
Though Barkley never won a ring, the Hall of Famer is still regarded as one of the most accomplished players, all while being undersized for a power forward.
In a brief interview with Baller Alert, Barkley addressed Green’s threat to take his job at TNT, revealing that their war of words is usually just in fun.
“I think he’s a good player and a great guy; I like messing with him. But he’s got the perfect face for radio; he don’t have a tv face,” Barkley said.
“He could do the job, but he don’t have a face for tv,” Barkley added.
Despite the beef, Barkley is doing great things for his community, in auctioning off his trophies and memorabilia to raise money for affordable housing in Leeds, Alabama.
“I don’t need that stuff,” Barkley said. “My hometown is very special to me, and it would be nice to get rid of the crap, to be honest with you.”
“I’m almost to 60-years-old, I don’t want to be 70-years-old and be showing people my trophies, I’m not that insecure,” Barkley said.
As the interview continued, Barkley also opened up about the coronavirus and how it will affect the NBA, as well as his March Madness predictions.
