The friction between Tasha K and boxing champion Claressa Shields has reached a boiling point.
In a recent episode of “unWinneD,” Tasha K decided to address the ongoing tension, but instead of backing down, she doubled down on her stance. While the world champion has made it clear she wants Tasha to keep her name out of her mouth, Tasha claims she’s simply playing the role of the protective auntie who sees through the smoke and mirrors of Shields’ high-profile relationship with rapper Papoose.
Tasha actually started the segment by surprisingly defending Claressa against the internet trolls who constantly attack the fighter’s looks. “Will y’all please stop saying Claressa is ugly? Will you please stop saying Claressa is ugly?” Tasha pleaded with her audience. First of all, all Black women look ugly when we get our bonnets and hair chewed up… but Claressa is not ugly. Claressa got some money now. She ain’t had no surgery on her face or on her body to change nothing. Okay, that’s how you know she pretty.” Tasha argued that the media often intentionally picks “aggressive” photos of the champ to fit a certain narrative, ignoring her natural beauty.
But the “compliments” didn’t last long before the tone shifted into what Tasha calls “brand protection.” Tasha insists that her harsh commentary on Claressa’s man, whom she jokingly referred to as “Papsmear” or “Pat Smith,” comes from a place of deep discernment. “I see something that you can’t see…, I can smell it,” Tasha warned. “He don’t mean no good. Rissa, he don’t mean no good. He ain’t got no money. I can tell.”
Tasha even went as far as to allege that Claressa is out here funding her own romance, claiming the gifts we see on social media are a front. “You bought the Louis Vuitton duffel bag and then you had to gift give him the Louis Vuitton box that you bought to give to you as if he bought it for you… He is living off of your money. He is broke.”
Claressa Shields, who is fresh off signing a historic $8 million promotional deal, was clearly fed up with the blogger’s “advice.” In a fiery video response that Tasha played for her viewers, the champ didn’t hold back.
“Tasha K and Lesha Dean… Y’all are cancers to the Black African-American culture,” Shields shouted. All y’all do y’all whole career try to break down Black women and tell lies about them… I hate y’all. I do. I hate y’all.” To remind everyone that her pockets are nowhere near empty, she added, “I’m self-made, self-built. I got $8 million. Are you dumb?”
Unfazed by the “hate” or the financial flex, Tasha ended the segment with a grim warning about the rotational women she believes Papoose is still involved with, including his estranged wife, Remy Ma.
“Claressa, the only thing that’s a cancer to the Black community is the cancer you about going to get,” Tasha quipped. “Papsmear, he going to cause you to get a series of papsmears with the rotational women that he’s messing with. Including in my opinion is still his current wife.”
Whether you see Tasha as a concerned observer or just a messy instigator, it’s clear that Claressa Shields isn’t looking for a seat at Tasha’s table.
