Neighbors in a quiet suburb have watched what many say feels surreal: an alleged squatter takeover of a $2.3 million home unfolding outside their own front doors.

The property at the center of the dispute sits in Bethesda, Maryland, where Tamieka Goode and her partner Corey Pollard have been accused of unlawfully occupying a bank-owned home. According to court records, both were charged last July with trespassing and fourth-degree burglary after neighbor Ian Chen filed complaints.
Last month, the case escalated inside the Montgomery County District Court. Judge John C. Moffett found Goode guilty on all counts and sentenced her to 90 days in jail. However, records show she was released after 11 days when she posted a $5,000 appeal bond. She is now represented by attorney Alex J. Webster III of Maronick Law and is scheduled for a pre-trial conference in circuit court on March 6.
Security footage obtained by Spotlight on Maryland appeared to show activity resuming at the 7,500 square foot property within hours of her release.
Webster told reporters there are multiple people inside the home, but said there is no evidence his client broke in. He also argued that legal loopholes related to property title issues played a role in how residency was claimed.
Meanwhile, neighbors say they remain concerned about safety and accountability as the legal battle continues.
