D4vd, the 20-year-old singer behind the song “Romantic Homicide,” has hired Blair Berk, a criminal defense attorney known for representing high-profile clients.
Berk’s past clients include Ye, Lindsay Lohan, Mel Gibson, Britney Spears, and Harvey Weinstein, according to LA Magazine.
The legal move follows the discovery of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s dismembered remains inside D4vd’s abandoned Tesla.
Authorities found her body in the trunk of the vehicle on September 8, just one day after the teen’s 15th birthday.
Investigators have stated that the teen had been deceased for several weeks before the discovery, meaning she was only 14 at the time of her death. The abandoned Tesla had been issued a parking violation nearly two weeks prior to the discovery, raising questions about how long the remains had been in the vehicle.
D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, has not been officially named as a suspect in the investigation. His team has confirmed that he is cooperating fully with authorities, though he has yet to issue a public statement regarding the case.
Berk has extensive experience handling complex and high-profile criminal cases, including representing Weinstein, which demonstrates the level of expertise being brought to D4vd’s defense.
The case has drawn widespread attention on social media, where D4vd has more than 2 million Instagram followers. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Celeste’s death, focusing on the timeline of events and how her remains ended up in the vehicle.
