DDG is standing by Halle Bailey following their recent online fallout, which sparked online discussion.
In a response video, the YouTuber urged fans not to spew negativity toward the mother of his son. This comes after Bailey expressed frustration over discovering that their son, Halo, appeared in a livestream with Kai Cenat without her prior knowledge. In a now-deleted tweet, Bailey informed fans that she hadn’t authorized her child’s participation in the stream and was unaware it would happen. She followed up with another tweet revealing she was struggling with “severe postpartum” before ultimately deactivating her account, prompting a wave of online criticism. Some accused her of inciting her fanbase against DDG amid their breakup. However, despite the fan’s reaction, DDG made it clear he doesn’t condone any mistreatment of his ex.
“I don’t like when people hate on Halle. I don’t care if people think she wrong or not, or if I think she wrong or right. She could be going through something mentally after having a kid that I can’t understand as a man. So when situations like this happen, I try to handle it with as much grace as possible because Halo needs her. You know, I need her. We need each other to create a childhood that’s safe and fun and memorable for him,” DDG shared, later adding, “We only been parents for 10 months. Now, we going through like a little breakup, whatever, you know I’m saying like yeah I gotta understand we going through something, you know, that’s a little, you know, it’s hard for us.”
After some time offline, Bailey returned to social media, acknowledging that she may have overreacted publicly and reaffirmed that DDG is a wonderful father to their son.
yesterday maybe i did overreact and shouldn’t have brought it here. i know that halo is always safe with his dad. i just don’t like finding out with the rest of the world what my baby is doing. thank u kai for the gifts for halo 🩷✨
