The U.S. Department of War is catching heat after dropping a new recruitment ad that leans heavily on Chicago drill culture to send a message to global enemies.

In a clip shared by the Department, the government agency used the instrumental to Chief Keef’s legendary anthem “Love Sosa” to soundtrack a montage of soldiers training and heavy artillery being fired.

While the lyrics were stripped from the track, the message was loud and clear. Over Keef’s signature production, a narrator issues a stern warning to anyone thinking of stepping to the U.S. military: “Should our enemies choose foolishly to challenge us, they will be crushed by the violence, precision, ferocity…” The ad ends with a blunt ultimatum: “In other words, to our enemies, ‘FAFO.'” For those not caught up on the slang, they made sure to clarify that stands for “F*ck Around and Find Out.

The internet is currently split down the middle on this one. With majority of his fans calling the move pure “cringe” and questioning the ethics of using hip-hop to market warfare.

This isn’t the first time the Trump administration has been under fire for its choice of soundtrack. Throughout his campaigns and presidency, Donald Trump has faced a mountain of cease-and-desist letters and public backlashes from artists who never gave him the green light to use their art. From Rihanna and Pharrell to The Rolling Stones and the estate of Prince, many have made it clear they don’t want their music associated with the administration’s political messaging.
