One of Diddy’s close associates is speaking out about a violent encounter the music mogul faced behind bars.
Charlucci Finney revealed that Diddy was nearly stabbed in his sleep at MDC Brooklyn.
“He woke up with the weapon to his neck,” Finney told Daily Mail, describing the terrifying moment that could have ended in tragedy. “Just seconds away from serious harm, or death.”
Finney says he’s unsure whether guards stepped in or if Diddy managed to defend himself, but sources confirmed to TMZ that the incident did take place. The attack appears to have been an attempt to intimidate Diddy inside the notoriously tough facility.
“Prison just isn’t a safe place for anyone convicted in a case related to sex,” Finney added, expressing concern for Diddy’s safety.
During Diddy’s sentencing, his attorney Brian Steel told the court that a guard stopped the inmate from going any further. Diddy was sentenced to 50 months in federal prison after being convicted of violating the Mann Act. He was acquitted of the more serious sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
Diddy’s legal team has appealed his sentence and conviction.
