Dr. Anthony Fauci Says He Plans to Retire When President Biden’s Current Term Ends

On Monday, Dr. Anthony Fauci, 81, told CNN that he plans to retire by the end of President Joe Biden’s current term in office.

Fauci stated he has not yet begun the process of retiring and does not currently have a set retirement date in mind.

“I have said that for a long time,” Fauci said of his plans to leave the government in January 2025.
“By the time we get to the end of Biden’s first term, I will very likely (retire),” Fauci said.

In an interview with Politico, Fauci stated that he did not anticipate serving in the government until the coronavirus was completely eradicated since, in his words, “I think we’re going to be living with this” for years to come.

He has been the director of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases for many years and is currently Biden’s chief medical advisor.

Fauci has advised each American president since Ronald Reagan for more than five decades.
