A Missouri man, Justin Killham, has filed a lawsuit against Drake, streamer Adin Ross, and the company behind the gambling platform Stake.
He claims the platform allows illegal online gambling in Missouri and that the influencers promoted it to residents without proper disclosure. The lawsuit states that Stake markets its U.S. platform, Stake.us, as a “social casino,” but it allows players to win real money through a bonus token system called Stake Cash. Killham says this setup violates state gaming laws and has caused harm to younger users and people with gambling problems.
According to the complaint, both Drake and Adin Ross were paid large sums to promote Stake on livestreams, and they misrepresented that they were gambling with their own money.
“These acts are deceptive, fraudulent, and unfair and violate Missouri law,” the lawsuit reads.
Killham is seeking recovery for losses he and others suffered from using Stake and wants the company and influencers held accountable for their actions. The lawsuit also criticizes the company for advertising heavily on social media, making it appear safe and harmless while offering real-money gambling.
Stake responded, saying it rejects the allegations and plans to defend itself vigorously. The company also stated it has not yet been officially served with the complaint.
