Drake may be planning his musical departure sooner than expected.
The OVO rapper recently sat down for a “moody conversation” with Lil Yachty for his sunglass company, Future Mood Studios. In a newly released trailer, Drizzy says he’s in the works of planning a “graceful exit.”
“I think I’m at the point now where I just wanna, like, I feel like maybe we talked about this the other day but I feel like I’m kind of introducing the concept in my mind of a graceful exit.” Drake says in the clip.
As of now, it is unclear if Drake was hinting at leaving the music industry soon or if he was just trolling to promote Yachty’s eyewear company. Nevertheless, fans will get a chance to get more details on his statement as the full interview is expected to be released on Friday, February 24th.
During his Apollo performance last month, Drake took a moment to gives thanks to his family and fans for supporting him throughout his career.
“I wanted to make this a show about gratitude,” Drake told the audience. “This is a little story that we put together. My deep love for my family, for my dear friends, and for each and every one of you who have been supporting me for a long time. […] This is my bedroom in my mom’s basement where I wrote a lot of new songs. […] I’m gonna play you some of the sh*t that got us out of here.”
