The Ciel Dubai Marina has officially opened its doors, marking a new milestone in hospitality as the tallest hotel in the world.
Rising 1,236.88 feet above the Dubai Marina, the towering structure offers sweeping 360-degree views of the Palm Jumeirah, the Arabian Gulf, and the surrounding skyline. Designed by London-based architect NORR Group, the hotel was built to create a spectacular presence on the Dubai waterfront.
Rob Burns, CEO of project developer First Group, explained via CNN, “We knew we wanted to build something spectacular. But we certainly didn’t plan on building the tallest hotel in the world.”
Despite the unplanned record, the hotel now holds the official title of the tallest hotel worldwide. The Ciel Dubai Marina features a total of 1,004 rooms, though only 200 remain unoccupied since its November 15 opening, according to news sources.
Room rates range from $375 per night for a deluxe room to $545 for a king suite, reflecting a balance of luxury and accessibility. The interiors are highlighted by a central atrium, which floods the building with natural light through expansive floor-to-ceiling windows.
Architect Yahya Jan emphasized the hotel’s focus on creating communal spaces, describing the design as incorporating “social community spaces,” which he refers to as “small parks.” These areas effectively turn the towering hotel into multiple “smaller neighborhoods,” providing guests with spaces to relax, socialize, or take in the views.
The hotel offers an impressive array of amenities for every type of guest. Dining options include eight restaurants featuring international cuisines. Guests can also enjoy three pools, including an infinity pool on level 76, described as being located in the “eye of the needle.”
Additional amenities include a fitness center and a fully equipped business center, ensuring that visitors have access to both leisure and professional facilities. With its strategic location in Dubai Marina, luxurious accommodations, and unmatched height, the Ciel Dubai Marina is poised to become an iconic landmark in the UAE.
