As Offset continues recovering after being shot near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, the conversation around him has taken on a life of its own. What started as concern quickly shifted into debates about gambling, money, and personal ties, and now Ebro Darden is taking responsibility for his role in that shift.

Ebro had previously gone viral after mentioning that Offset owed him $5,000 from a Super Bowl bet, a comment that spread fast while news of the shooting was still developing. At the same time, reports confirmed Offset was “fine” and receiving medical care, while authorities arrested Lil Tjay on a misdemeanor disorderly conduct-affray charge tied to an alleged altercation before the shooting. Tjay’s attorney has denied any involvement in the shooting itself.
Now, Ebro says he didn’t anticipate how quickly his words would reshape the narrative.
“I want to apologize to Offset,” he said. “I didn’t know there was going to be this day-long pile on… Me and Offset made a goofy bet at a Super Bowl. It was silly.
He explained the story only resurfaced because of a broader conversation about gambling, but once clips hit social media, it took on a different energy.
“I didn’t know that it was going to go that way… I didn’t realize Lil Tjay and Offset really had a problem,” he added.
Ebro confirmed he reached out privately, saying the two were “laughing in the text,” but the public reaction still didn’t sit right.
“I still felt terrible seeing my name… ‘Ebro says Offset owes him $5,000.’ That’s my bad,” he admitted. “People are going to chop it…run it up and get the algorithm popping.”
He closed with a direct message: “Sorry, my brother…Offset’s my guy.”
As Offset heals, the moment highlights how fast narratives can shift, especially when real-life events and viral commentary collide.
