Ed Lover is not here for Drake using Tupac Shakur’s vocals on his “Taylor Made Freestyle.”

If you recall, Drake dropped the track using an AI voice of Shakur to deliver a diss to Kendrick Lamar in the thick of their nasty rap war. The song was quickly scrapped after Shakur’s estate issued a cease-and-desist to the Toronto star.  Lover believes this move was disrespectful to Shakur, whom he is confident would not be a fan of Drake if he were alive.

“I hated that s**t. I hated that because that man is not here to give you his permission to do s**t. And you’re not even in that man’s league.  You’re a great artist in your own right, but the way that man got everybody heart, you ain’t got people’s heart like that,” Lover shared with The Art Of Dialogue.

When the record was first introduced, it sparked similar reactions from fans and fellow hip-hop artists.  Snoop Dogg’s vocals were also used in the record, which surprised Snoop, a one-time friend of Shakur and a current supporter of Lamar.  Many believed Drake went too far using the computer-generated vocals of West Coast icons, whom Lamar has much respect for, as a way to diss him.

Drizzy has not responded to Lover’s comments about him.  Having seemingly moved on from the beef, it’s unlikely Drake will have much to say, especially as he gears up for a new joint album with PartyNextDoor.
