Baller Alert Entertainment & Lifestyle Jackie Christie was introduced to Baller Alert with a blog titled: How To Train Your Baller The Jackie Christie Way. We caught up with her after her cameo on Basketball Wives and she has been pretty busy. Check out the exclusive interview talking about her marriage, upcoming web series “Jackie Christie Knows Best”, and her 5th book “Sexual Relations: A His & Her Guide to Sexual Intimacy”, Basketball Wives, and Much More.
Baller Alert: I read the article in the New York Times about your way of making sure your husband does not cheat. For instance, it said you follow behind the team’s bus on road trips talking to Doug on his cellphone. Was it something happened that made you act like this?
JC: (laughs) I always crack up when I hear this. People make it seem as though I had a bat mobile or something. I never had to follow behind the bus so to speak. However, I road on the media bus with not only the team media but also with other wives and their families, so of course this myth always makes us laugh because it wasn’t the case at all. Besides, Doug & I encourage families and wives to travel and support their husbands and fathers as much as possible. Many wives and families do and it is to be applauded.
Baller Alert: Is it true that you guys get re-married every year?
JC: Yes, very true. We have and always will (smiles). We decided after our first wedding to make it a family tradition and so we did. We love each other and we are best friends, loves and soul mates. We really are blessed to marry each other every year. By the way I think we may be ready to make it into the Guinness Book of World Records after this years wedding which will be our 16th.
Baller Alert: What should we expect in your new web series “Jackie Christie Knows Best”?
JC: With my “Jackie Christie Knows Best” web series I will help women and men with common questions about lots of things, as well as sharing tons of very informative and entertaining content. My series is geared to become the go to place for everyone that wants to not only be entertained but also educated as well. There will be great celebrity interviews, special guest appearances and lots and lots of more.
Baller Alert: Tell us about your clothing line.
JC: I have been deigning clothes since I was 3 years old and when I grew up after being a model for a long time I decided to launch my official Fashion House of Jackie Christie, Inc. when my husband played for the Toronto Raptors. By the time we went to Sacramento for him to play I was designing for the players on his team and the wives and the rest is history. Numerous athletes and basketball wives have all been seen wearing my clothing and it’s a humbling feeling. I was invited to showcase my line during LA Fashion week twice and received a standing ovation each time.
Baller Alert: What do you think of Vh1’s Basketball Wives?
JC: I love the show! I didn’t know what I was would think when I first heard about BBW but now I am an avid watcher. I don’t have a favorite cast member because I think they all bring something different to the table and being a basketball wife, I can relate to the things they’re saying.
Baller Alert: After the extremes that you have gone through, have you ever caught your husband cheating?
JC: Never and if I had I would be an ex-wife. Cheating is something that would hurt to the core and I really feel a person should be able to choose what and what they want in life since we only live once, right? So with that being said, if my husband was to choose to be with another person I would have to respect that decision and move on. It’s really not something I have to worry about because he has tried the rest and chose the best. (laughing)
Baller Alert: Why did you decide to do online webisodes instead of getting a reality show on VH1, etc.
JC: If this were a few years ago, no doubt I would have chosen to go the television route, but in today’s entertainment world, people are looking more and more to the internet for entertainment content, so I wanted to capitalize on that.
Baller Alert: Would you be open to bringing a third person into your relationship to keep it spicy?
JC: Yes, only in our imagination. I talk about this in my new book as well. Imagination, definitely yes. Physical? No! I don’t think so. Besides, I’m every woman to Doug and he’s every man to me, so we really don’t need any help in that department. (laughs)
Baller Alert: Do you regret taking that photo shoot with your husband on a leash?
JC: No, not at all. Doug & I were tired of all the bullsh*t being said about him being on a leash and me being his keeper, etc. so we decided to have a little fun and make light of the jokes and comments. Doug and I are down for each other in EVERY aspect of the word.
