Exclusive Q&A With Ray Edwards Of The Atlanta Falcons

Last week I got the pleasure of interviewing Ray Edwards of the Atlanta Falcons. I gave yo guys a bit of a sneak peek in our “Ask A Baller” segment but I wanted to put you guys on to the entire Q&A Session.

BA: You recently broke up with your girlfriend who was a stripper, do you find in your profession that you attract women of certain occupations more than others?

RE: No, not at all. I feel like I attract women of all occupations. She was just someone who caught my eye and I wanted to see how a relationship would go. It was going well there, for a minute, but then you know, it went south.

BA: Do you think you’ll ever involve yourself with another stripper?
RE: I don’t know. It’s all about whoever God sends me. That’s my outlook on those types of things.

BA:  How should a woman approach you and show you that she’s interested?

RE: Just come introduce yourself. I mean, that’s how I approach women. Just introduce yourself and if I feel like it can go forward, I don’t have a problem with that. If not, I will politely decline.

BA: And where would they usually introduce themselves? Would they find you at a party? At a club?
RE: I really don’t party that much. I might go out every once in a while. I’m usually at the movies, bowling alley, comedy shows and concerts. That’s where you can usually find me. I’m a laid back kind of guy.

BA: Please answer this age old question for me: Is it trickin’ if you got it?

RE: Is it tricking if you got it? It is DEFINITELY tricking whether you got it or not. It ain’t tricking if she’s yours! That’s the only exception.

BA:  How do you personally  weed out groupies from those that are genuinely into you?
RE: When your team mates say “Oh, I know ol’ girl” or more than a couple of guys know who she is then you know that okay, she’s a groupie.

BA: Would that stop you from talking to her? If she seemed like a nice girl would you give her a shot?

RE: It kind of depends on…okay…if they just know her then that’s okay but if she smashed the homies like Ray J says, it can’t really go any further then I just being friends and hanging out.

BA: How many homies is too many homies?

RE:  Two. Two is too many [laughs]

BA: We saw your modeling photos not too long ago, are you taking this modeling thing serious?

RE: Very serious. I love modeling, it’s fun. I’m starting my own company now and hopefully the right people will see my pictures and offer me a modeling contract.

BA: What made you want to start modeling?
RE: Everyone always told me I should model. I figured hey, why not try it out since everyone thought I should do it.

BA: Do you think you’re good at it?

RE: I think I’m good at it.

BA: I think you’re good at it too!

RE: I appreciate it [laughs]
BA: We’re here to talk about sports too, so how long have you been playing football?
RE: I’ve been playing since I was about 10 years old. I’ve been in the league for 6 years.

BA: When you were 10 years old did you know that you wanted to enter the NFL?
RE: I knew I had to play something professionally because I never wanted to live paycheck to paycheck or work a 9 to 5.

BA: Have you ever worked a 9 to 5 job?
RE: Yeah, my first job was working at Arby’s when I was 14. I also worked at a pizza place called Donato’s. That was almost 13 years ago.

BA: That’s good that you were able to find something that you were good at, that you enjoyed doing and you made a career out of it. Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to do the same?

RE: Definitely, put hard work and dedication into it. Ignore the negativity. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do it. I heard a lot of negativity coming up. You’ll also have to make a lot of sacrifices. I don’t have a lot of friends right now because my friends were going down the wrong path.

BA: The Super Bowl is this Sunday and unfortunately the Falcons didn’t make it…Who is your Superbowl pick this year?
RE: I gotta go with the NFC. I got the Giants!

BA: Besides football and looking great on camera, what other things are you in to?
RE: Let’s see, I’m in to guns. I’m in to dogs. I have a blue pit bull. And I’m in to raising my 10 month old son.
